Jamaican Honeymoon - Round Up
This should be that last of our honeymoon which we are still dreaming about 2 months later....At this point my burn had somewhat went away so I could enjoy a little more time in the sun. We had a full day planned that started with one of the things I had been looking forward to for months.....Dolphins! We got up and had breakfast which included a bunch of random things as seen above..lol.
After breakfast we went straight to the dolphin cove and got there early so we could watch the dolphins play. The caretakers were feeding them breakfast before we started. At first I was scared because I have never been around a dolphin before and we all just jumped down into this big sectioned off area of the ocean. I was freaking out that they were going to swim up and touch my legs or something. We started out getting to kiss them, dance and hold them. I was screaming and I was in absolute heaven!! All of us were. I think Eric was smiling more because of my excitement than he was because of the dolphins. The funniest part was when the dolphins would come to push you up..let me set the scene. Your all by yourself at the other end of this huge "pool" and the instructor sends the dolphins towards you and you just seem them disappear into the water until they are right in front of you and then surface and then go straight down to push on your feet!! I don't know if they were tired by the time they go to me or if they were mad at each other but everybody else's push out of the water looked so cool! They did not swim close together on mine and spread my legs so far apart!!!! It was awful but also hilarious!! LOL I would say my favorite was putting my arms out and holding them. Then, Eric and I got to come back later and get a picture of us together with a dolphin because we made good friends with one of the instructors! One of the dolphins they have there was 10 years old which is so amazing. The interesting part about it is that the dolphins could jump out over the net anytime they wanted to! It's only about 3 feet above the water and they can jump over way higher than that. It was just so beautiful to see them jumping and playing with each other-so happy and healthy! Our time with the dolphins was almost over and we had one more thing left to do with them. The instructor lined all of us up in the water and had the dolphins come out to us and we all did the hokey pokey! Everyone , including the dolphins were spinning around in circles.....Well I guess I kicked my foot out too far and one the dolphins tales NAILED my right foot!!!! I grabbed Eric's arm and said "She kicked my foot" and was smiling to keep composure and holding my foot! It hurt so bad and I could not wear flip flops the rest of the day! I was swollen the whole rest of the trip. One night after dinner it swelled up a lot..lol. It's fine now so I guess it was just bruised...lol...
I needed some delicious fresh sushi after that which healed me up quick :). Look how big the chunks are in the sushi! It was SO good!!
After eating lunch we went to get a couples massage at the spa! I don't have pictures of the spa area but it was SO amazing! We got there an hour early so we could have the full "aquatic" experience. I had an attendant that followed me while I was in a robe and sandals. First she took me to a sauna that was over 140 degrees. At first it was unbearable laying on the hot wood but then she brought an ice cold wash cloth with a cucumber-esque scent in it and it was a game changer. The heat was probably worse for me because I was SO BURNT from snorkeling! lol. After this I was taken to this beautiful poor area (Eric was also there at this point) and they forced me to do THE POLAR PLUNGE! We had to dip down in ice cold water-I got up to my waist and I said "I don't think I can do it" and my attendant said "Up to the shoulders" with a serious look on her face. So I did it and then ran out of there! lol Then we got into the pools with bubbles and jets for a while. After this we were split up again and they set me on a zero gravity warming chair made of stone and handed me a fruit infused chilled water. I could have laid there for an hour!!! Once we go into our massage room I had to tell the therapist that I was really burnt and that I just hurt my foot at the dolphins! She was laughing at me. It was so fun to do a couples massage together :) We went back out after and rode the ocean bicycle and relaxed on the beach before getting ready for dinner :)....I was just a day of absolute bliss (with some pain on the side LOL).
That night we went back to La Gondola and I think this was my favorite meal start to finish! We had a salmon and cheddar cheese appetizer and then ordered salads with a filet and I got vodka sauce pasta-It had bacon and fresh herbs in it. This was the one thing I wished I could have eaten every night!! The dessert was a pistachio ice cream covered in white chocolate! To die for!
We had not been to the buffet at dinner yet and I wanted to go take pictures of the beautiful desserts to we went and got a few to try because we knew we wouldn't be at the buffet for dinner any night! I chose the pink tall dessert which was like a raspberry yogurt with granola and white chocolate on top. It was so good!
I almost wore this jumpsuit at my wedding shower but decided to save it for the honeymoon! It is one of my favorites of all time :) Asos just gets me! This was the end to our Thursday and I think when we started to realize we had to leave paradise at some point! lol We stayed up to late this night talking and watching TV. Woke up late the next morning and took our time getting ready and eating breakfast. By the time we got out to the beach it was about 11 am. I don't wear 2 piece bathing suits a lot but I could not pass this one up! I got so may compliments and one girl I talked to for a bit actually got online to buy it when we were there! LOL
Our dinner not the beach was so magical and perfect! We laughed the whole night and probably annoyed the people around us but we were in such a goody mood at this point. I had taken an nap earlier that day and apparently while I did Eric ate all the snacks in our room. I didn't find this out until going to dinner and they brought us rolls and he didn't touch his roll....I was like what is wrong with you?? Then he admitted to me that while I was asleep he ate everything in the room! I thought I was going to pee my pants right there I was laughing so hard. When I woke up he had crums on his and I thought oh, he had some peanuts or something....Little did I know! This was so funny to me and the whole night we made fun of each other and laughed! The only part about the dinner on the beach we would have changed was sharing dessert LOL!
On our last full day in Jamaica we wanted to really soak up the beach so we ordered a crazy room service breakfast and got out on the water :). I got some chicken enchiladas with beans and then croissants with Nutella! Eric got an omelet.....Okay, only my breakfast was crazy. But it was also crazy amazing!!
I was in full vacation mode at this point and had really gotten use to resort life! LOL We spent all morning on the beach and then went in for a nap. Came back out and spent the evening in relaxation until the sun was set. Then we headed to dinner at the asian grill and went to the club to dance a little bit on our last night! lol But really we had danced more just goofing off the whole week than we ended up doing in the club. It was a blast though! Perfect way to spend our last night in honeymoon bliss!
Leaving the resort was hard but we were so ready to get home and start our life together in our HOME! I have more videos of Eric and I together than I do pictures from our honeymoon...I may have to figure out a way to share those in a youtube video!
For the next post I want to share what the first two months of marriage have been like for us...From the feels to the projects and our favorite meals so far..etc. :)
